About the Festival

Hi, my name is Leon. Welcome to the South Wales Area of the Surface Festival which covers Cardiff and Swansea.

The Surface Festival 11, is working in association with Zimbalam, Marshall, Ents24, Last.FM, Ashdown, D'Addario, Planet Waves, Evans, PMT, Tama, Zildjian, Univibe Audio, Creative Junkie Media, CheckMineOut, Dominic Nicholls Photography, GuitarNation, Ibanez, Band SEO, Quite Great PR, Ritter, Sziget Fest, Jumbocruiser and Gig the Nation to name a few to develop alternative ways for bands and artists to gain exposure and develop their fan base. In 2011 events will be held in cities throughout the U.K. and Europe. For bands and artists that reach the final stages of the Festival, both Surface and our sponsors will award with Industry Showcases, Recording and Production Deals, Professional Photo Shoots, Cash, Endorsements and much more.

Prizes for 2010 were in excess of £60K, 2011 prizes are in excess of £100,000 and are below. This list is always being added to so please check the website for more info.

The Surface Festival provides the venue, technical organization, sound technician, stage manager, lighting technician, presenter and every other aspect of organization i.e. the P.A., microphones, stage monitors, etc. We also provides the full backline (guitar & bass amps, full drum set incl. cymbals, stands, drum stool and kick pedals).
